Snow Camp: ride the mountain!

Trip length
8 days
Ages
10 - 17
Dates
Saturday, December 30 to Saturday, January 6

Dear Families,

We are very excited about offering a snow session again this year for skiers and snowboarders of all levels and hope your children can join us. This session is more recreational than natural sciences, and is a great opportunity for campers to develop their skiing or/and snowboarding skills.

In addition to Yaniv Singer, who led this session last year, we have hired Brit Mathat, who joined our summer staff last year at Big Sur and Sierras.

Yaniv Singer

Yaniv has been on staff for Camp Chrysalis since 2009. In 2012 he decided to bring his love forsnowboarding to camp by creating a snow session. He has snowboarded the Alps, Lake Tahoe, andmost recently, Mt. Hood, Oregon. His favorite thing at the snow session is to explore the off-piste withcampers, and to find new and exciting powder runs.

Brit Mathat

Brit has spent winters skiing in Taos (NM), Alta (UT), Bridger Bowl (MT), Grand Targhee (ID) and Palisades (Tahoe)). She has completed snow science teaching with the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center as well as an avalanche course at Sugar Bowl. Brit has also taught adaptive skiing with Eagle Mount, a program that provides access for skiers with disabilities. She loves all things mountains, especially backcountry skiing in the Sierras.

If enrollment warrants it, we will hire a third instructor. We will be offering individual and small group skill-based lessons including video as a tool to give visual feedback to improve your child’s form and skills. This session is limited to 15 campers, ages ten through seventeen.

Here are the details for you to consider:

We are very excited about offering this session again and having Brit joining us on staff. Discuss this idea with your family and contact Lee with any questions right away. As soon as we have nine campers confirmed (our break-even point), I will notify enrolled families to buy the passes. Please don’t hesitate if you’re interested in this session. We are attaching an application form to return with a deposit of $400 to secure your child’s space. Fees can be paid via check, VM or PP, as usual.
